Why i choose this topic (rationale)
The main reason I've chosen this topic is because I have a great passion for the medical industry. I've been interested in medical field work since I was a 13, I've always wanted to know more and help more people in the community. In Y11's Work experience 2010, I have the privilege to work in PWH A&E department. During the week those SMO & SNO gave me a lot of chances to work with them and to observe, it was a phenomenal experience!!
Experiencing things I've never experienced before through the "eye of medicine" I have been deeply inspired on this topic, I am intrigued by their communication. They've used a lot of medical jargon that I don't understand, and even when I asked them, they need time to recall their memory and slowly explain to me the specific meanings. The way I've learnt is really unique, I have been in many medical environment and have been encouraged to 'join in' with their jargon. This in conclusion motivates me to learn even more. I've even done jargon tests to check I can remember and understand the phrase. Knowing the jargon makes me feel a part of the medical profession and I can't wait to study more in their field.
